Industrial Visit to Botanical Garden and Bird Park, Chandigarh

On 7th March 2024, Biotechnology Department, CCT organized a educational visit for students of B.Sc. (Hons.) Microbiology accompanied by faculty members Dr. Kriti and Mr. Bhairav Prasad, visited the Botanical Garden, Chandigarh. During their visit, they were informed about the different medicinal and ornamental plants and to explore the other diverse flora in the garden. The botanical garden featured with several themed gardens, such as bonsai garden, herb garden, rose garden, cactus garden and different horticulture styles to propagate specific plant communities. The visit was both educational and enjoyable, offering a glimpse into the fascinating world of plants.

The students also visited a renowned Bird Park located in Chandigarh. The purpose of visit was to explore the diverse avian species housed within the park, learn about their habitats and behaviors, and the importance of avian specie in the ecosystem. The park features a series of exotic aviaries and exhibits, each designed to replicate the natural habitats of different bird species. From tropical rainforests to arid deserts. They also explored a diverse range of environments housing an array of colorful and captivating birds.

Overall, the visit left the students feeling content and motivated to pursue their future goals, as they gained a deeper understanding the role of plants and birds in maintaining the biodiversity.
