Guest lecture on Epigenetics in fertilization and early embryonic development

Dr. Garima Gupta, Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology and IVF Specialist, distinguished alumni of AIIMS, New Delhi delivered a Guest Lecture entitled “Epigenetics in fertilization and early embryonic development” on 9th February 2024 for the BSc Biotechnology and Pharm D students.the guest lecture was organized by Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran, Mohali. The session was organized to boost up the knowledge of students of Developmental Biology, BSc. Biotechnology Sem 6. The speaker explained oognesis and early development of oocyte in humans. She also shared knowledge about different hormones and receptors involved in oogenesis and early embryonic development. The expert also took a session on cervical cancer and how to prevent cervical cancer. Dr. Gupta demonstrated the girls students how to screen themselves for breast cancer. It was very interactive and informative session, where the student comes to know the embryonic development. The session ended up with vote of thanks by Head of department.
