Biotechnology students visited National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute, Mohali

On 7/02/2024, a group of 56 students from B.Sc. Biotechnology Semester 2, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Harjodh Singh and Dr. Aditya Bhardwaj, visited the National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute in Mohali. During their visit, they were informed about the latest advancements in agrobiotechnology, including the development of biofortified colored wheat, seedless fruits, millet-based nutraceuticals, high resistant starch content wheat, and edible food coatings.

The students also had the opportunity to tour research labs and engage with research students, gaining insight into the practical application of their academic knowledge. Dr. Sangeeta Negi and Dr Vanish Saini, an expert in the field of agrobiotechnology, also provided valuable insights and answered their questions about recent research and developments. Overall, the visit left the students feeling content and motivated to pursue their future goals, as they gained a deeper understanding of the potential impact of their field of study.
