Advanced Analytical Instrumentation workshop– I-RISE Operator Training Program (I-OTP)
Faculty, staff and students from Department of Biotechnology, CCT actively engaged in the Advanced Analytical Instrumentation workshop– I-RISE Operator Training Program (I-OTP) held from 18–20 February 2026 at the Sophisticated Analytical Instrumentation Facility (SAIF) Panjab University in collaboration with PU–IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation (PI-RAHI).
Representing CCT, Dr. Harjodh Singh (Assistant Professor), Mr Pushpinder Singh (Lab Instructor) participated alongside four M.Sc. Biotechnology students. The workshop brought together researchers, technicians, and instrument custodians from leading institutions, fostering a collaborative and skill-driven learning ecosystem.
The three-day intensive program delivered expert lectures and live demonstrations on cutting-edge analytical instruments, including LC-MS, GC-MS, ICP-MS, SEM/FESEM, TEM, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), Thermal Gravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), and Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy. Participants gained operator-level insights into instrument principles, sample preparation, parameter optimization, troubleshooting, data acquisition, and interpretation.
A strong emphasis was placed on laboratory safety, preventive maintenance, and best practices to maximize instrument efficiency and longevity. Hands-on exposure and interactive networking sessions further enriched the learning experience.
The participation reflects the institution’s strong commitment to advancing research excellence, effectively utilizing national research infrastructure, and enhancing the quality of teaching, research, and laboratory management for future academic and industry collaborations.
