Workshop on Advanced Oligonucleotide Design and Molecular Assay Development

Six B.Sc. Biotechnology students from Department of biotechnology, CCT,CGC Landran—Ms.Ridhima Dutta, Ms.Radhika Ranjan, Ms.Riya Sharma, Ms.Saumya, Ms.Anita Sharma, and Mr.Sourabh Rana—participated in a two-day workshop on “Advanced Oligonucleotide Design and Molecular Assay Development” at PU-IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation (PI-RAHI), Panjab University from August 20-21, 2026.

The workshop provided valuable exposure to primer and probe design, PCR, qPCR, Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), CRISPR, and molecular diagnostic techniques through theoretical sessions and hands-on software demonstrations.

The enriching experience strengthened the students’ practical skills, research aptitude, and understanding of emerging molecular biotechnology technologies. The initiative reflects the continued commitment of CGC Landran towards providing students with meaningful industry exposure, hands-on learning experiences, and opportunities to engage with emerging technologies in the field of biotechnology.
