MoU with OmicsLogic and Hosts Expert Lecture

The Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OmicsLogic Bioinformatics & Data Science (OPC) Pvt. Ltd., India, on 16 October 2026, marking a significant step towards strengthening industry–academia collaboration and advancing interdisciplinary learning in biotechnology, bioinformatics, and data science.

As part of this initiative, Dr. Mohit Mazumder, CEO and Founder of OmicsLogic, India & USA, delivered an expert lecture titled “From Genes to Insights: Big Data Bioinformatics & Data Science for the Next Generation of Biotechnologists.” The session highlighted the transformative role of bioinformatics, big data analytics, and computational approaches in modern biological research, demonstrating how complex biological datasets can be translated into meaningful scientific insights. The lecture familiarised students with the growing integration of biotechnology and data science, showcasing emerging applications of computational tools in genomics, biological data analysis, and life sciences research.

The MoU is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange, promote skill-oriented learning, and create opportunities for academic engagement and industry exposure. This initiative reflects the Department of Biotechnology’s continued commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening industry partnerships, and equipping students with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in the rapidly evolving fields of biotechnology, bioinformatics, and data science.
