Ideathon for a Sustainable Future
Ideathon for a Sustainable Future was successfully organized at Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran on 17/02/2026 under the Environment Education Programme of the Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), supported by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 teams representing leading institutions across Punjab, including Rayat Bahra University, National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Ropar, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Panjab University, ISF college Moga, Guru Nanak Girls College Ludhiana and many more After a rigorous two-level screening process, 28 shortlisted teams presented their innovative and sustainable solutions addressing pressing environmental challenges.
Campus Director Dr. Rajdeep Singh welcomed the guest and followed by inaugural address delivered by Dr. Palki Sahib Kaur, Director-Principal, Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran. Er. Pritpal Singh, Executive Director PSCST Chandigarh graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring keynote address, highlighting the critical role of sustainable technologies, green entrepreneurship, and collaborative efforts in environmental protection. Dr. K. S. Bath graced the event as the Guest of Honor and appreciated the initiative taken by the institution to promote environmental awareness and innovation.
The Ideas were evaluated by a distinguished panel of jury members from academia and industry, including Mr. Vineet Arora, MD and Founder of Novique Life Science Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Kulwinder Singh, Founder and Managing Director of Evox Group; Mr. Anil Aggarwal, COO, Ind Swift Laboratories Ltd. , Mr. Alok, HR Head, Nestlé India Pvt. Ltd. , Ms. Manameet Mathur , Associate Director, Research and Health consultancy company and Mr. Ankush Gawri, Manager (IP & Technology Transfer), Indovation Centre Chandigarh, AICTE (MoE). Mr. Ankush Gawri, delivered an insightful session on Yukti portal and how to scale up ideas during valediction ceremony. All the winners were awarded with cash prizes (First prize Rs. 30000/- , second prize Rs. 20000/- , third prize Rs. 10000/- and Rs. 5000/- consolation prize in each category). Under Category reduce single use plastic and adopt healthy lifestyle: Deepanshu from Team Sinchit , CEC, Landran bagged first position, project Personal Refill Card System presented by Dollvi from ISF College Moga secured second position, Sonia Jindal, RISE Department, CGC Landran got third Position on project titled FAB??? and consolation prize was given to Twinkle from National institute of Electronics and Information Technology, Ropar for innovation Parali to Packaging And under Category reduce waste and save energy: Team Maritag from Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran bagged first position for idea on floral waste management. Jashanpreet and Gurjot Kaur from Mata Gujri College Shri Fatehgarh Sahib got second position for project “Sustainable washing machines with Biofilter technology” and Deepanshi Sharma with packaging innovation titled “Myco-Mazing” from Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran got third position and Ms Navjot Kaur from CCT Landran bagged consolation prize for “Sustainable Piezoelectric Energy from Wheat Straw”. The jury appreciated the originality, feasibility, and environmental impact of the ideas presented by the participants.
The Ideathon served as a dynamic platform for students to showcase their creativity and commitment towards sustainable development. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, celebrating the collective effort of organizers, participants, and supporting agencies in making the event a grand success.
