Faculty Participation in State-Level NSS Convention at Chandigarh University

Dr. Mandheer Kaur, Associate Professor and Programme Officer of the National Service Scheme (NSS) at Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran, actively participated in the State-Level NSS Convention held at Chandigarh University from March 24–25, 2026. Organized by the Regional Directorate, NSS Chandigarh under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the convention brought together over 250 participants from 34 universities across the state and UT, including NSS officers, programme coordinators, and subject experts.

The event focused on strengthening the impact, outreach, and effectiveness of NSS while promoting meaningful youth engagement in nation-building. Key discussions highlighted the role of NSS in social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment. Addressing the gathering, Ms. Prerna Puri, Secretary Education, UT Chandigarh, emphasized that NSS is not just a program but an ideology of service, dedication, and social responsibility.
