Expert Session on Global Sustainability Frameworks: An Indian Perspective
The Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh College of Technology organized an expert session titled “Global Sustainability Frameworks: An Indian Perspective” on 11 March 2026 in collaboration with the Centre for Compliance, Nature and Anthropocene Policy (CCNAP India Pvt. Ltd.), Mohali. The session was conducted by Mr. Dilraj Singh (Founder & Director) and Mr. Vishal Singh (Co-Founder & Director) of CCNAP India Pvt. Ltd. The objective of the session was to familiarize students, researchers and faculty and incubated start-ups with global sustainability frameworks, environmental compliance, and India’s role in achieving sustainable development goals.
The guests were welcomed by Dr Ashok Kumar, Director Academics, CGC Landran and Dr Palki Sahib Kaur, Director Principal, CCT. Mr. Dilraj Singh discussed the importance of sustainability frameworks in shaping environmental policies and corporate strategies and elaborated on the concept of carbon credits and carbon trading as effective mechanisms to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The session included real-world examples and case studies illustrating the practical application of sustainability frameworks and highlighted the growing demand for professionals in sustainability, environmental compliance, and policy development. Mr. Vishal Singh also emphasized the important role of grassroots innovators in developing practical and sustainable solutions to local challenges.
The session was organized under the guidance of Dr. Ashok Kumar, Director (Academics), whose support and leadership played a significant role in the successful conduct of the program. The event concluded with an interactive discussion in which students and faculty actively engaged with the speakers, making the session highly informative and thought-provoking. The session motivated participants to embrace sustainability-oriented approaches in research, innovation, and professional practices, fostering a commitment to responsible and sustainable development.
