Empowering Youth for Safer Communities: CCT Landran Students Complete Yuva Aapdamitra Training

In a significant step towards strengthening youth preparedness and community resilience, four students of Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran, along with Dr. Mandheer Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, successfully completed the week-long Yuva Aapdamitra Training Programme, organised by MGSIPA, Punjab, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Punjab.

Held from 3 to 9 August 2026 at Government Polytechnic College, Khunimajra, the programme equipped young volunteers with practical skills in disaster preparedness, first aid, emergency response, rescue operations, risk reduction and community safety through interactive sessions, demonstrations and hands-on activities.

The participating CCT students—Mehak and Navpreet (BCA), and Garima and Krishdeep (B.Sc. Graphics)—gained valuable exposure to disaster-management and emergency-response techniques under the guidance of experienced trainers Mr. Yogesh, Ms. Gulshan, Ms. Shaina, Ms. Shruti, Ms. Jivanjot and Ms. Saloni.

The successful completion of the programme enhanced the students’ confidence, teamwork, preparedness and sense of social responsibility, empowering them to act as responsible first responders and contribute to community safety during emergencies.

CCT Landran expressed its sincere gratitude to MGSIPA, Punjab, and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports for organising this highly relevant initiative and providing students with much-needed practical disaster-response training.

The initiative reflects CCT Landran’s commitment to holistic education and responsible citizenship, encouraging students to transform knowledge into action and contribute meaningfully to society.
