Educational Visit to National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali
The Department of Biotechnology, CCT CGC Landran, organized an educational visit to the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali on January 21, 2026, for students of B.Sc. Biotechnology students. The visit provided students with valuable exposure to recent developments in biotechnology, microbiology, and pharmaceutical sciences. Students had an enriching experience at the Central Instrumentation Laboratory (CIL), where experts demonstrated the working principles and applications of advanced analytical instruments, including GC–MS, XRD, NMR (400, 500 & 600 MHz), HRMS, MALDI-TOF, HPLC systems, FTIR/UV–VIS, capillary electrophoresis, and several other state-of-the-art facilities.
Students interacted with research scholars in various biotechnology research laboratories, gaining insights into real-time research activities and career prospects. Additionally, students explored the Pharmaceutical Heritage Centre at the NIPER campus, gaining perspective on the evolution of pharmaceutical sciences.
The visit proved to be highly informative and motivating, helping students connect theoretical knowledge with real-world applications and inspiring them towards future careers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical research.
