Commercial Insights into Mushroom Farming

Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh College of Technology, CGC, Landran, Mohali organized a One Day Seminar on “Commercial Insights into Mushroom Farming”. The event aimed to provide comprehensive knowledge and insights into the commercial aspects of mushroom cultivation by Prof. Deepak K Rahi (Department of Microbiology, Panjab University, Chandigarh) and Dr Vipasha Sharma (CEO, MKelly Biotech Ltd.) for Biotechnology students. The seminar provided ample knowledge about mushroom farming and a post-seminar networking session allowed students to build valuable connections within the mushroom farming community. Dr. Deepak K Rahi touched the general aspects of mushroom including structure of mushroom, life cycle of mushroom as well as the growing conditions. Dr. Vipasha Sharma emphasizes on the business opportunities as well as startup initiatives through mushroom farming which encourages the biotechnology students to understand the profitability in mushroom production. Additionally. She also share success story and provide practical tips to inspire and guide the students.. The networking opportunities further enriched the experience, fostering collaboration and community-building among mushroom enthusiasts. Department of Biotechnology will look forward to organizing more such events in the future to support and promote the growth of the mushroom farming industry.
