AI Summit Glocal AI: Real Impact
Dr. Mandheer Kaur, an Associate Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh College of Technology, Landran (Punjab), was among the distinguished academics and industry experts who attended The AI Summit – “Glocal AI: Real Impact” held at Hyatt Chandigarh on January 31, 2026. Organised by TiE Chandigarh in collaboration with the Haryana Government, the summit brought together leading technologists, policymakers, researchers, and educators to discuss how artificial intelligence can generate tangible benefits at both global and local levels under the theme “Glocal AI – Real Impact”. The summit commenced with an inaugural keynote address by S. Satnam Singh Sandhu, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Chancellor of Chandigarh University founder of the Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) who highlighted the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in education, governance, healthcare, and industry. His address set the tone for the event, emphasizing responsible innovation, skill development, and the need to align AI advancements with societal needs.The event featured over 60 speakers from around the world and across India, with panel discussions and workshops focusing on cutting-edge topics such as responsible AI deployment, digital transformation, and AI’s role in education, healthcare, agriculture, industry, and governance. Speaking on the summit’s objectives, organisers emphasised the need to leverage AI to enhance skills, productivity, and inclusive development across sectors—bridging global innovations with local societal needs.
This summit provided an exceptional platform for faculty, researchers, and students to connect with global AI leaders and explore collaborative opportunities that extend beyond traditional academic boundaries.
