Advanced Training on Recombinant DNA Technology & CRISPR Technology - Day 2
News Report for 2 Days: Advance Training on Recombinant DNA Technology and Genetic Engineering using CRISPR Technology organised by the Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran in Collaboration with Carrytern Technologies and Meraj, IIT Bhilai
The Department of Biotechnology at Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), CGC Landran successfully organized a Two-day Advance Training on Recombinant DNA Technology and Genetic Engineering using CRISPR Technology from March 18 to March 19, 2026. The event was conducted in collaboration with Carrytern Technologies and Meraj (IIT Bhilai), aiming to provide students with in-depth theoretical knowledge along with practical laboratory exposure in advanced biotechnology.
The training witnessed active participation from students of Biotechnology and Microbiology. Key topics covered included recombinant DNA technology and CRISPR-based gene editing, which are widely used in modern biological research and medical advancements. A major highlight of the program was the hands-on DNA extraction practical, where participants learned to isolate DNA from biological samples under expert supervision. Additionally, a live virtual demonstration of CRISPR Technology was conducted, enabling students to understand the working and real-world applications of precise gene editing. To evaluate the learning outcomes, an assessment test was conducted at the end of the training. Based on the performance, top five students will be selected to represent their institution at the National Championship to be held at IIT Bhilai, providing them with a prestigious platform to showcase their knowledge and skills. The successful completion of this two-day training program highlights the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation, skill development, and excellence in the field of biotechnology.
