10-Day Integrated Summer Course on Functional Foods & Quality Assurance: Standards, Safety & Regulatory Requirements.

The Department of Biotechnology, in collaboration with the Training & Placement Department (TPP), Chandigarh College of Technology (CCT), Landran, and the Punjab Biotechnology Incubator–Knowledge & Upskilling Centre (PBTI-KUC), Mohali, successfully inaugurated a 10-Day Integrated Summer Course on “Functional Foods & Quality Assurance: Standards, Safety & Regulatory Requirements from 8–19 June 2026.

The program witnessed enthusiastic participation from biotechnology students, offering them a unique blend of academic learning and industry exposure. Batch A underwent specialized training at PBTI-KUC, Mohali, where students were provided with an extensive exposure to state-of-the-art biotechnology and food testing facilities. The sessions covered FSSAI regulations, food safety standards, and quality assurance protocols, providing students with valuable insights into regulatory compliance and quality management systems followed in the food and biotechnology industries. Simultaneously, Batch B attended sessions on functional foods, nutraceuticals, and quality assurance, complemented by practical training on the extraction and evaluation of bioactive compounds for their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. The sessions were conducted by Dr. Ranju Rathore and Dr. Suksham Pal, Assistant Professors, Department of Biotechnology, CCT Landran.

This initiative reflects the Department’s strong commitment to experiential learning, industry collaboration, and skill development. By integrating classroom knowledge with real-world applications, the Department of Biotechnology, CCT Landran continues to empower students with industry-relevant competencies, research acumen, and professional excellence, reinforcing its position as a leading center for biotechnology education and innovation.
