Summer Training Program-Molecular Techniques and PCR

Department of Biotechnology, CCT Landran, in collaboration with Genie Laboratories Pvt Ltd, Bengaluru conducted the summer course entitled Summer training program, Molecular Techniques and PCR from 24th -26th August 2022. Students from UG and PG courses in biotechnology and microbiology participated in the course. The course included both theoretical and practical sessions. The inaugural session was headed by Dr. Vandana, Research Scientist, PGIMER , Chandigarh. She discussed the DNA isolation steps like sample preparation, reagents preparation, procedure and quantification of isolated DNA. She also touched the area of cloning and vectors with respect to their application. The post tea session was taken by Dr. Sukanya, research associate PGIMER, Chandigarh. Her topic of discussion was RNA isolation and central dogma of cell. She told student about RNA isolation and its procedure. Post lunch in hands on training session students performed experiment on DNA isolation. Department always organizes such updated events to make student industry and society ready.
