
Expert Talk on Pharmacovigilance: A Career Path in Drug Safety
The Department of Biotechnology, CCT, in collaboration with ACI Pharmacovigilance,
successfully organized an expert talk on Pharmacovigilance: Your Path to Drug Safety and
Career Growth on 02 nd April, 2025 for final-year B.Sc. and M.Sc. Biotechnology students. Mr.
Sunil Verma, Director of Pharmacovigilance Training at the Academy of Clinical Intelligence
provided valuable insights into the field of pharmacovigilance, emphasizing its significance in
ensuring drug safety and monitoring adverse drug reactions. Through real-world examples and
industry trends, he highlighted how biotechnology students can build a career in this domain.
Students were made aware of the various roles and responsibilities in pharmacovigilance,
including drug safety monitoring, regulatory requirements, and reporting adverse events. Mr.
Verma also discussed the skills required for this field and potential career opportunities in
pharmaceutical companies, contract research organizations, and regulatory agencies. The session
was highly informative and interactive, allowing students to engage in discussions and clarify
