Educational Visit to Botanical Garden, Sarangpur, Chandigarh by Department of Biotechnology

An educational visit to the Botanical Garden, Sarangpur, Chandigarh was organized by Department of Biotechnology, CCT, CGC Landran for B.Sc. Biotechnology students on 4 th April 2025. The visit was designed to provide students with practical exposure to biodiversity, ecological systems, and conservation practices as a part of educational curriculum. Surrounded by greenery and fresh air, the students explored a wide variety of plants and gained a better understanding of biodiversity and the importance of protecting the environment.

Students explored various sections including the cactus zone, medicinal plant area, and aquatic plant section. Guided by garden staff, they learned about the role of different plant species in maintaining ecological balance and the importance of preserving biodiversity.

This hands-on experience deepens students’ understanding and appreciation of the environment, beyond what textbooks can offer. The visit concluded with a short reflection session where students shared key learnings and expressed a commitment to eco-friendly habits in their daily lives. The experience not only enhanced academic understanding but also inspired environmental responsibility.
