Awareness program on “Nourishing Women, Empowering Lives” at Chapar Chidi
On November 12, 2024, a group of 53 students from the Department of Biotechnology, Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran, along with faculty members Dr. Ranju Rathour, Dr. Nishtha Sharma and Dr. Mandheer, conducted a pivotal awareness program at pind Chapar Chidi. This initiative, conducted in under the theme “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”, Government of India, aimed to promote nutrition, women empowerment, and overall awareness. The primary aim of this event was to raise awareness about essential health and nutrition practices, empower women through knowledge and skill-building, and promote a sense of national unity through cultural activities. Special focus was given on improving nutrition awareness to combat malnutrition and promote healthy lifestyle practices, especially among women and young girls. Faculty and students engaged with farmers, homemakers, and local workers to discuss and address various critical issues affecting the lives of women and children. During the event, students and faculty members delivered impactful talks highlighting the importance of balanced diet in addressing everyday challenges faced by women. This was an impactful initiative towards spreading awareness on nutrition and women empowerment. The college pledged to continue its efforts to promote such values, contributing to a healthier, more unified, and empowered society.
